This bundle includes all files required to use the Bitstream
Dutch 809 (Concorde) Type1 fonts with LaTeX on the Un*x or
PC platform. It does, however, _not_ include the actual
Type1 fonts, which are to be purchased.

The below installation instructions assume a TDS-compliant
TeX system, such as teTeX, fpTeX, MikTeX or VTeX/Free. The
directory name "texmf" refers to the root directory of the
TDS directory tree. In case your TeX systems has more than
one such directory tree, the documentation should tell you
where to install new files.

release of this collection, please delete the file

In case you have installed the 2001-03-13 release of this
collection, please delete the directoriy

  texmf/tex/latex/bitstrea/concorde/

and files

Installing the Type1 font files
-------------------------------
The Type1 font files are to be renamed for use with TeX.
The original file names may vary, depending on whether you
have acquired the font files from Bitstream or Corel:

FontName: Bitstream: Corel: TeX:
Dutch809BT-RomanC 1061a___.pfb dut809n.pfb bocr8a.pfb
Dutch809BT-ItalicC 1062a___.pfb dut809i.pfb bocri8a.pfb
Dutch809BT-BoldC 1063a___.pfb dut809b.pfb bocb8a.pfb

The .pfb files are to be copied to the directory

  texmf/fonts/type1/bitstrea/concorde

of your TeX system. The related .afm files are to be
renamed accordingly; install them into the directory

  texmf/fonts/afm/bitstrea/concorde .

You may need to create these directories first.

Installing the TeX support files from the archive boc.zip
---------------------------------------------------------
Unpack the ZIP archive boc.zip in the directory "texmf" of
your TeX system; thus, all files will be copied to the
appropriate directories.

Updating the filename database
------------------------------
Certain TeX systems require manually updating of a "filename
database" after adding of new files. Please, consult the
documentation of your TeX system!

Configuring your TeX system
---------------------------
|
| You need not repeat this step, when updating from a
| previous release of this collection!
|

The present distribution comprises several font map files
for the <Supplier> <Family> fonts. You need to configure
your TeX system so that these files are actually used.
The required steps depend on the particular TeX system.
Particular sets of instructions are provided below for the
following systems:

  * teTeX
  * VTeX/Free

As far as other TeX systems such as MikTeX are concerned,
consult the documentation how to configure the programs of
the TeX system to use the additional font map file boc.map.
Two copies of this file reside in the directories
texmf/dvips/config and texmf/fonts/map/dvips.

Configuring teTeX
-----------------
Additional font map files are installed using the shell
script "updmap". With teTeX-2.0 and later (or teTeX-beta as
of June 2002 and later) execute the following commands:

  texhash
  updmap --enable Map boc.map

With earlier versions of teTeX, consult its documentation
how to use the "updmap" script. In case your version of
teTeX has no such script at all, please conslt the teTeX
docmentation how to install the additional map file boc.map.

Configuring VTeX/Free (v8.00 and later)
---------------------------------------
Make VTeX read the additional font map ("aliasing") file
boc.ali. This is usually accomplished by putting a record
for boc.ali into each of the configuration files

  texmf/vtex/config/pdf.fm
and
  texmf/vtex/config/ps.fm

The name "boc.ali" is to be added to the TYPE1 section of
the above-mentioned files:

TYPE1 {
  ...
  boc.ali
  }

Using the Dutch 809 fonts with LaTeX
------------------------------------
See the file concorde.txt, which resides in the directory
texmf/doc/fonts/bitstrea.
